The Archives at the hospital has a wonderful collection of memorabilia related to the School of Nursing and the Alumnae. We are very fortunate that these documents, photos and other items are being well cared for. Many HSC Alumnae members have helped to sort and catalogue this material.
We would like to be able to show photos taken of most of the graduating classes – you know, the ones with our head shots! We’ve reached out through the Newsletters and at the last two AGMs to check with our members and no one seems to object to this project. So, we’re moving forward!
Recently two of us headed to the Archives at SickKids to take shots of the photographs. Unfortunately, many of them are covered with a protective plastic that cannot be removed easily. This causes glare when photographing them. In the future we might try to have these professionally scanned by one of the departments at SickKids. But for the time being we’ll post our results here in hopes you will enjoy them.
We think it will be fun to share them with your children, grandchildren and friends.
