“Died peacefully at The Carpenter Hospice on May 16, 2019, two days before her birthday. Joanne was born May 18, 1946 in Toronto. She trained as a nurse at Sick Kids Hospital and worked with her husband Dennis at their family practice in Burlington for over 40 years, later expanding her career as a prenatal instructor at Sheridan College. Joanne and Dennis were inseparable in work and in life, married 47 years, raising four children: Sarah, Erica, Adam and Rachel. Anyone who met Joanne knew her as a curious, warm listener. A patriotic Canadian, she never missed a Team Canada hockey final and was a CBC superfan. Joanne was a loyal community member since her family moved to Burlington when she was a child.” (Obituary as noted below)
