Joy Oliver, a graduate from the Cl’51, died on December 20, 2020. Peter Oliver, Joy’s son, wrote to the Alumnae recently and asked us to share the following…..
Joy was a member of the HSC School of Nursing ’51 graduating class. She was also a member of the HSC Nursing Alumnae and kept in touch with her 1951 classmates over the years to organize informal reunion gatherings in Ontario. Her daughter Wendy (Oliver) Kubisheski was a member of the last HSC School of Nursing ’74 graduating class.
Joy raised a family of 4 children with her husband Ray Oliver in Toronto while doing volunteer work at North York General Hospital for over 30 years. She loved to sing and was part of many choirs including the Newmarket Keynotes Seniors Choir and the Voices of Joy. She loved spending time with her family at the cottage overlooking Halls Lake on Hwy. 35 in Haliburton.
