04-Apr-1949 – 23-Apr-2022
Peacefully at home with her cherished family close by on Saturday April 23 in her 73rd year. Builder and leader for over thirty years of S.E.N.E.C.A Seniors Day Program, her bright smile and positive attitude touched the lives of so many people, many with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. Retiring a few years back, she waged a tremendous battle with cancer, beating the odds with that positive outlook and a never give up attitude. Never believing the end would come until it came, she shared so many happy times with the family she loved dearly. Survived by her husband of over 51 years Lorne, daughter Tara and husband Ryan Schooley and their three sons Jacob, Tyler and Lucas, son Jeffrey McBride and his two daughters Noelia and Sienna, and daughter Caitlin and husband Morgan Muscat and their three children Brayden, Cameron and Madison. The family will be holding a private interment in the near future at Glen Oak Cemetery in Oakville. A celebration of life will be arranged later in the year for her many friends and admirers. You are invited to the Glen Oaks website for expressions of sympathy and pictures of her life. Special thanks to Dr. Rajagopal and Anna of Credit Valley Hospital for their tender care and encouragement to Wendy during her battle. In memory of Wendy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
She was such a role model and inspiration to each of her children and grandchildren. She had a way of making us all feel so special and so loved. She was always there for every important birthday, milestone, hospital visit or just when we needed her wisdom and advice. Her favourite thing was being there and supporting the kids at their activities and events and was always their loudest cheerleader. We are so grateful for having her in our lives.
We miss her so much but know she will always be forever in our hearts.
