Surprise! Surprise! We recognized one another! It was five years since our last gathering but stalwart classmates came from California, British Columbia and places throughout Ontario to hug and laugh and reminisce about the old Sick Kids days. As time has gone by and memories have become a little confused, the stories took on special delights with lots of hearty laughter.
We paid tribute to the 14 members who have gone to their reward, and had a champagne toast to the 17 of us (classmates and husbands) who gathered at the Chelsea Inn in Downtown Toronto for two days in June this year.
Dinner at the hotel was long and late, followed the next day at the newly expanded and restored Art Gallery of Ontario. ……A short walk from the Art Gallery is the Metropolitan Hotel where we had lunch in the Hemisphere Restaurant. This was a delightful setting where we brought our reunion to an end.
It was fun! A great joy to be together and sad to say farewell.
